Job Description
We’re on the hunt for a marketing leader who is equal parts visionary and activator—someone
who sees beyond tactics and into the why. You can zoom out to shape high-level strategy, then
dive in to guide creative, digital, and content execution with purpose and clarity.
As Director, Brand + Marketing, you’ll lead a passionate in-house team and collaborate closely
with agency partners, vendors, and industry allies to create standout, scroll-stopping, and results driven
work that sparks curiosity and builds a deep love for Kamloops.
Your role? To champion fresh thinking, inspire meaningful connection, and steer innovative ideas
that challenge convention and bring our brand to life in ways that move people.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You’ll Do
Own the Strategy: Lead full-funnel marketing approaches that turn awareness into meaningful action. Balance always-on efforts with big-picture campaigns, rooted in KPIs and strategic priorities.
Champion the Brand: Ensure our visual identity, voice, and storytelling reflect the spacious, spirited essence of Kamloops—on every platform, in every moment.
Lead with Empathy + Direction: Nurture a high-performing team through mentorship, clear goals, and honest feedback. You’ll know when to coach, when to challenge, and when to make the tough calls that serve the bigger picture.
Drive Project Excellence: Bring discipline and clarity to campaign planning and delivery. Set clear scopes, develop actionable briefs, and manage timelines with confidence and care.
Foster Creativity + Openness: Lead ideation with energy and curiosity. Embrace new ideas, test fresh platforms, and cultivate a culture where exploration and learning are valued.
Build Connection + Collaboration: Partner across internal teams and with external partners. Be the connector who keeps strategy aligned, communication flowing, and momentum strong.
Measure What Matters: Own performance reporting and analytics. Monitor key metrics and use insights to fine-tune strategy, justify investments, and drive accountability across the board.
Show Up for Kamloops: Be present, passionate, and proud. Champion our community-first values, understand our audiences deeply, and share stories that inspire connection, exploration, and pride in place.
What You Bring to the Table
10+ years of experience in marketing leadership roles or equivalent, ideally with experience in tourism, destination marketing, or a similarly fast-moving, brand-led environment.
A proven track record in brand building, team leadership, and executing digital-first strategies that deliver measurable results.
Deep knowledge of digital ecosystems—paid media, SEO, CRM, content strategy, analytics, and beyond.
You’re collaborative to your core. You’ve led cross-functional teams and managed agencies with finesse and results.
You know when to lead with heart and when to lead with heat—motivating others with vision and clarity.
You believe in the power of place, community, and brand storytelling.
We value diversity in backgrounds and we’re open to a mix of education and experiences.
