The Discover Canada Student Adventure (DCSA) Division specializes in student youth travel and activity programs across Canada and the world. We are a one-stop shop for all student travel needs, including guided multi-day tours, ski programs, camps, orientation programs, ground transportation, flights and travel insurance. We offer personalized tours to and from anywhere in the world, specializing in Canada. Our goal is to show local and international students some of the greatest sites of our country and beyond its borders, to ensure they have a rich experience in your programs.

Position Overview
The DCSA Division Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Discover Canada Student Adventures division and will manage a cross-functional team overseeing the sales, marketing, product development, operations, account management and overall growth of the division.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

– Owning your division and its key performance metrics including;
– Revenue growth
– Product Inventory growth
– Product optimisation and quality
– Customer Satisfaction
– Analyze the current status of Discover Canada Student Adventures, and in conjunction with the company owners design an action plan with specific & measurable goals and objectives, projects and priorities
– Identify and solicit new clients, target groups, and organizations to work with including but not limited to elementary and highschools across Canada and international agencies
– Lead strategic deals with top partners from idea generation to implementation and project management to success tracking and reporting
– Directly manage the major accounts
– Manage communications with all parties in reference to DCSA group bookings, ensuring excellent customer service is delivered and that payment collection, name lists, and group details are received as per company deadlines
– Manage the DCSA Team, including ongoing training, mentoring, and conducting performance reviews, in addition to recruitment of new team members
– In conjunction with the product team, constantly refine our existing tours and create new DCSA tours ensuring we are delivering an exceptional product and price. Inclusive of year round tours including ski programs and summer camps
– In conjunction with the marketing manager, oversee the creation of newsletters, press releases, brochures, and other new marketing material to support the sales goals and to differentiate our company from competitors
– In conjunction with the operations manager, create detailed itineraries for the guides and drivers
Work with the Operations Manager to select the best step-on tour guides and driver guides, and chaperones for DCSA tours
– In conjunction with the operations team:
Coordinate and book all inclusions with suppliers
Oversee the creation of rooming lists, activity manifests and other specific group inclusions
– Monitor release periods to avoid any penalties related to cancellation or reduction of blocks
– Prepare final documents including: confirmed itinerary, passenger manifest, activity reservation numbers, etc.
Communicate requirements and client expectations to the guides
– Update and monitor online booking platforms including Fareharbor and Lift
– Lead Tours or assist the Tour Guide on some tours when needed
– Troubleshoot any issues that may arise before, during or after the tours, in line with company policy.
– Be an ambassador for the division through involvement in webinars, workshops, trade shows, and supplier meetings.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, Education or a related field.
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, operations, or a related role within the tourism or education industry.
– Minimum 2 years of management experience
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.

Salary/Wage

60,000 - $75,000
