Job Title: Front of House Supervisor
Location: Whitewater Ski Resort
Department: Indoor Operations
Reports to: Indoor Operations Manager
Employment Status/Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
Compensation: $20-$21 (DOE) alongside further employee perks and benefits.

JOB SYNOPSIS:

Under the direction and supervision of the Indoor Operations Manager, you will lead the Food and Beverage team in providing an exceptional culinary resort experience for our guests. The Front of House Supervisor’s primary role is ensuring optimum service is met, ensuring consistent and timely service, assisting in controlling costs, championing sustainability initiatives, and taking an active role in supporting other department requests to ensure Resort success.

Key areas of responsibility include department recruiting, scheduling front of house staff, overseeing food service, and managing costs and inventory of all relevant products and supplies.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champion a sustainable approach in daily operations, development, and planning.
Embrace, promote, and follow Whitewater’s mission statement and values.
Participate in hiring and training staff for all Front of House.
Supervise, coach, mentor, and schedule all Front of House staff.
Order, maintain, and control inventory for all front of house products and supplies to match business volumes.
Work with the Management team to ensure pricing meets the organization’s goals of profitability.
Resolve customer complaints as well as any internal conflicts between staff.
Oversee food service, and act as an expeditor, when necessary, to ensure the consistent timely movement of completed food orders from kitchen to customer table.
Ensure practice of health and safety regulations.
Ensure proper communication is maintained with the customer if there is a delay.
Ensure opening and closing duties are well done each day in a high-quality manner.
Ensure communication between the Front of House & Back of House is positive and professional.
Support the Bar team in ensuring a top-level service is experienced by all guests in the lodge.
Ensure health and safety regulations are practiced by all staff members.
Ensure all areas of the lodge are tidy & well organized.
Manage department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assist in achieving organizational goals.
Provide a positive, memorable, and outstanding guest experience.
Promote Whitewater’s safety culture by reviewing and amending where necessary but not limited to: Department Manuals, CDPP, Employee Handbook.
Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
Tourism, Hospitality, or Business Certificate an asset.
Food & Beverage Serving it Right.
Food Safe Level 1.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Previous leadership/supervisor/management experience, preferably in the food & beverage sector.
Familiarity with Google Workplace is an asset.
Excellent team player.
Excellent time management.
Excellent customer service & communication skills.
Must be of legal age as you are working in licensed areas.
Computer and cash handling experience.
Must be willing to travel to the mountain as well as work weekends and holidays as required.
