Job Description

We’re seeking experienced and enthusiastic Hiking & Canoeing Guides to lead multi-day wilderness trips while ensuring safety, education, and an unforgettable adventure for our guests. In addition to guiding, you’ll play a key role behind the scenes—helping with trip logistics, gear preparation and maintenance, and overall trip coordination.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:
– Lead guided hiking and canoeing trips, sharing knowledge of local ecology, wildlife, and history
– Ensure guest safety and comfort in remote backcountry environments
– Prepare and serve backcountry meals
– Set up and maintain campsites, including food storage and waste management
– Assist with trip logistics, including packing, transportation, and supply organization
– Maintain, clean, and repair outdoor gear and equipment as needed
– Foster a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for guests

Qualifications:
– Previous guiding experience in hiking and/or canoeing
– Wilderness or Adventure Tourism certifications an asset (ACMG, Flat Water Canoeing)
– Current Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or equivalent certification
– Strong paddling skills and experience leading canoeing trips is an asset
– Strong navigation skills, including experience with map, compass, and GPS in backcountry settings
– Excellent leadership, communication, and guest service skills
– Comfortable working in remote, off-grid environments
– Physically fit and able to carry out hands-on tasks like lifting gear and setting up camp
– Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended trips

Salary/Wage

240-300/day + gratuities
