We are currently searching for an experienced BANQUET SERVER to join our team on a full-time basis.

 

Position Description

Reporting to the BANQUET & IRD SERVER Manager, the BANQUET & IN-ROOM DINING SERVER will make the most positive impact on guest experiences in the Banquet Space and In-Room Dining through consistent application of Shangri-La’s core practices in all F&B outlets, maximizing the balance between Colleague, Guest and Owner satisfaction.

  • Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
  • Deliver food to guest rooms, attending to service needs while keeping accurate reporting of charges to guest folios
  • Pick up orders efficiently from the kitchen
  • Remove soiled dishes, linen, silverware and restore/replenish settings
  • Participate on opening/closings, setups and breakdowns and ensure overall service ambiance, cleanliness, appropriate setting and presentation
  • Resolve food quality and service complaints at earliest and first point of customer contact, ultimately providing outstanding customer service
  • Apply the necessary precautions with regards to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Read and execute specifications listed on the Banquet Event Orders, paying close attention to special needs/requests.
  • Attend all pre-shift meetings to ensure events are on time as per the banquet event course.
  • Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in Banquet Event Order.
  • Maintaining proper standards of service to ensure a positive dining experience:   delivering items, fulfilling guest needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
  • Have a good understanding and be able to communicate products and services to guests, when required.
  • Deliver and serve welcome drinks, food, meals, condiments and accompaniments etc.
  • Prepare and replenish tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station, tables, and service areas. 
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquet Captain/Banquet Manager.
  • If no upcoming events, please have rooms in a readiness position for any possible site inspections. 
  • Assist others with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
  • Set up/tear down function rooms in accordance with BEO requirements, setting tables, chairs, dancefloor, stations.
  • Ensure that meeting rooms are re-set for next event, if required.
  • Undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Education & Skill Requirements

  • Previous service knowledge and training is required.
  • Minimum 2-year work experience in banquets, room service, restaurant service is preferred.
  • Flexible availability – required to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as required.
  • Current Serving it Right and Food Safe Level 1 certification is required.

Salary/Wage

$20.36 + gratuities
