Job Description

RLC Landscaping is seeking an Irrigation specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the experience technician will work on-site to excavate, install, repair and maintain underground irrigation systems, sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, valves and other watering devices. You must be comfortable operating and adjusting various computerized irrigation systems, as well as performing routine service maintenance of a wide range of manual and motorized tools and equipment pertinent to irrigation.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Follows written and verbal instructions from the Operations Manager/Foreman.
• Keep the Operations Manager informed of any client requests.
• Track time and record materials and services in Service Autopilot.
• Determine if sufficient hours are budgeted to complete assigned tasks. Any deficiencies are to be reported immediately to the Operations Manager.
• Assist the Operations Manager in the developing maintenance programs.
• Assist the Operations Manager with landscape design.
• Promote a good work ethic to crew members.
• Demonstrate proper safety procedures and ensure all crew members are working safely.
• Pickup and receive materials.
• Ensure no damage occurs to persons or property.
• Ensure equipment is loaded, unloaded and secured properly in company vehicles before and after transport.
• Ensure worksites, vehicles, trailers and storage containers are neat and tidy.
• Drive work vehicles to and from sites.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).
• Assist in the development of SOPs and JHAs.
• Daily walk around/pre trip inspection of equipment and/or vehicles and follow maintenance and repair procedures/practices.
• Daily on-site work to excavate, install, repair and maintain underground irrigation systems, sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, valves and other watering devices.
• Program and adjust watering schedules with various irrigation controllers; assist with water audits and maintain computerized irrigation systems, including radio or telephone communication equipment.
• Operate and perform routine service maintenance on a wide range of manual and motorized tools and equipment pertinent to irrigation, while providing direction and training to other staff as required.

Education and Experience
• College diploma or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with irrigation systems of a variety of sizes, types and complexities.
• Hold a CIT1 and CIT2 designations from the IIABC
Requirements
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, can drive a truck with a trailer comfortably (Drivers Abstract required up hiring).
• Provide your own reliable transportation to and from work.
Preferences
• At least five years of irrigation experience.
• Current First Aid Certification (OFA).
• Snow removal experience.
• Horticulture student or graduate.

Wage range is $28 to $36 pr hour depending on experience.
