Responsibilities & Qualifications

What your day will look like:

· Work closely with the kitchen associates and the front of the house associates in a respectful manner to resolve conflict and answer questions.
· Train and supervise kitchen staff in the proper preparation of menu items, equipment and safety measures.
· Prepare food items for customers using a quality pre-determined method in a timely and consistent manner with a minimum of wastage.
· Manage all aspects of the food production for the restaurant according to hotel standards and sanitation practices.
· Be aware of current food trends with regard to presentation and style to help with new menu ideas and menu design.
· Work with suppliers and venders, food cost, and labor cost management.

Your Experience and Skills Include:

· Interprovincial Red Seal Certification mandatory
· Must have Food Safe Level 1 and Level 2.
· Ability to obtain and or maintain any provincial and federal licenses, certificates and permits.
· Required to have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in comparable 4 diamond hotels or restaurants.
· Completion of a recognized culinary program
· Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English, strong knowledge of French cuisine is required
· Due to the cyclical nature of the industry, employee will be required to work varying shifts and times due to the needs of the business within the hotel.
· Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Strong knowledge and cooking techniques of local and international cuisine is required.
· A neat, clean, well groomed appearance as per hotel standards.
· Excellent health is necessity as this position is mentally and physically demanding.
· Must be able to lift/carry up to 20-25kg.

Salary/Wage

$31.00-$33.00 per hour
