Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Prepare all aspects of the food production for The Beaufort Avenue Pub at the Comox Legion according to standards and sanitation practices.
-Prepare food items for customers using a quality pre-determined method in a timely and consistent manner with the minimum of wastage possible.
-Manage prep inventory and ensure proper receiving, storage and rotation of inventory. Checking quality and receiving food orders.
-Daily cleaning and inventory of walk in, storage and refrigerators for stock rotation and cleanliness. Working with the front of house staff members to ensure that all garbage and recycling is efficiently maintained.
-Ensure all equipment in the work area is properly cleaned after every use. Report any equipment in need of repair to the manager immediately.
-Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances with appropriate attention to detail relative to the individual needs
-Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions outside of regular pub operating hours.
-Perform other duties as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:
Current WHMIS, First Aid, and Food Safe level 1
A minimum of 1 year experience working in a kitchen
Completion of a recognized culinary program, Red Seal Certificate (recommended though not required)
Must have strong communication skills, in English, both verbal and written.
Demonstrates a professional attitude and fosters a fun and collaborative environment
Must be able to work a variety of shifts including opening shift/ mid shift/closing shift
A neat, clean, well-groomed appearance
Must be able to lift/carry up to 25kg
Must be able to stand on feet for 8 hours per day.
Must be currently legally able to work in Canada
