Job Description
Eleven Revelstoke Lodge and Quartermaster Eatery is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Technician to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our property. This role is
responsible for maintaining the grounds and buildings, executing repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all guest-facing areas meet the highest standards of safety and
functionality. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Lodge Manager, Restaurant Manager, Executive Chef, and other team members to address maintenance needs efficiently and with minimal disruption to guests. This position requires proven maintenance experience, technical proficiency, and strong problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, physical stamina, and a commitment to creating an exceptional guest experience through well-maintained facilities. This is a full-time year round position earning an hourly wage between CA$25-$27/hr.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
Property & Grounds Maintenance: Maintain grounds and buildings associated with Eleven’s Canada operation, including Eleven Revelstoke Lodge and Quartermaster Eatery, off-site staff housing, Grotto & Highway storage areas.
Maintenance Tracking: Use property maintenance checklists in EFO to ensure all tasks are completed. Solve EFO Maintenance requests submitted by other team members.
Repair & Upkeep: Perform interior and exterior maintenance using power and hand tools, equipment, fixtures, structures, and furnishings.
Preventative Maintenance Program: Adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule to proactively address potential issues and reduce downtime.
Hot Tub & Sauna Upkeep: Regularly maintain and monitor chemical levels for hot tub, sauna, cold plunge and steam room, ensuring they meet operational standards.
Firewood inventory & kindling production: Take the lead in ensuring enough firewood is brought to the lodge and plenty kindling is produced.
Vehicle Maintenance & Upkeep: Oversee regular vehicle checks, maintain fluid levels, and ensure vehicles are kept in good order.
Emergency Readiness: Be prepared to respond to maintenance emergencies promptly to minimize disruptions to guest experiences.
Energy Efficiency: Identify and report any energy-saving opportunities (e.g., efficient lighting, heating, and cooling adjustments) to reduce the property’s environmental impact.
Safety Checks: Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities, ensuring all fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, emergency exits, and other safety equipment are functioning and up to date.
Waste Management: Oversee the disposal of waste and recycling in compliance with local regulations, ensuring all areas remain clean and organized.
Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs and obtain approval from management as necessary.
Outdoor Space Management: Maintain walkways, driveways, and parking areas; provide rain and snow clean up by drying surfaces promptly and shoveling snow.
Guest Areas: Keep all guest areas clean and safe by removing hazards, cleaning debris, wiping patio furniture, and maintaining appliances.
Inventory & Equipment Management: Manage supplies and equipment, performing regular checks and updates.
Specialized Tasks: Conduct basic electrical, carpentry, and metal work as needed.
Assistance with Contractors & Projects: Support larger construction projects and collaborate with Grassy Creek property developers as needed.
Team Collaboration: Maintain positive relationships with staff, guests, and the community to uphold Eleven’s values and standards.
Qualifications
1 year proven experience in property maintenance, construction, or a related field.
Special Position Requirements
Proficiency in Google Suite and ability to learn maintenance tracking software (EFO).
Self-motivation and capability of working independently while staying focused on priorities.
Capable of operating equipment relevant to maintenance tasks.
Preferences
Certification in First Aid/CPR.
Technical training or certification in carpentry, electricity, or HVAC systems.
Team-orientation with the ability to collaborate across departments.
High ethical standards and attention to detail.
Ability to be personable and confident, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
Proactive problem solving abilities: Ability to identify and address maintenance needs before they escalate.
A customer-centric mindset, understanding the importance of maintenance in enhancing guest satisfaction.
Work Requirements
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
Physical stamina for continuous, active work, including lifting 50+ pounds repeatedly.
Willingness to assume risk associated with electrical work and other maintenance tasks.
Ability to work comfortably in environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and moving machinery.
