Nestled in the heart of traditional Ahousaht territory, Tofino Wilderness Resort offers a unique blend of luxury and culture. The resort features 16 guest rooms, a restaurant and lounge, spa facilities, a distinctive longhouse, and adventure equipment. Previously known as Quait Bay Floating Lodge and Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, the property was recently acquired by Maaqutusiss Hahoulthee Enterprise Inc. (MHEI) and is set to reopen in summer 2025. Alongside seasonal eco-tourism (May–October), the resort will host healing and wellness programs for youth and adults.

What You’ll Do
The Maintenance Technician Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of all buildings, property, equipment, machinery, and systems. This role involves overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring safety compliance, troubleshooting technical issues, and managing resources to maintain optimal operational efficiency.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Supervision
-Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians.
-Assign and monitor tasks, ensuring timely completion.
-Train team members, enhance technical skills, and uphold safety standards.

2. Maintenance Planning & Execution
-Develop and implement a Standard Operating Procedures manual.
-Schedule and oversee maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and upgrades.
-Prioritize tasks to minimize downtime and maintain operations.

3. Troubleshooting & Repairs
-Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and system issues.
-Implement solutions to prevent recurring equipment failures.

4. Safety & Compliance
-Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations.
-Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
-Investigate and report safety incidents, implementing corrective measures.

5. Inventory & Resource Management
-Create and manage work orders, ensuring accurate documentation.
-Monitor and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
-Coordinate with vendors and the General Manager to avoid shortages.

6. Cross-Department Collaboration
-Work with Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Guest -Services to ensure seamless operations.
-Assist the General Manager with specialized projects and large-scale tasks.

What You Bring
Required:
-Experience: 3–5 years in maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
-Technical Expertise: Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and industrial systems. Familiarity with generators, water turbines, UV water systems, heavy machinery, hot tubs, saunas, and milling operations.
-Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
-Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in a remote environment.
-Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of safety practices and regulations.
-Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication.
-Time Management: Effective task prioritization and time management.

Preferred Certifications:
-SVOP, MED A3, Maritime Radio Operators
-OFA 3 (Advanced First Aid)
-Small Water Systems & Effluent Systems certifications
-Tickets in Mechanical, Electrical, or Carpentry

Physical Requirements:
-Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
-Comfortable working in confined spaces, industrial environments, and varying weather conditions.
