JOB DESCRIPTION:
Discover Surrey is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic marketer who is passionate about tourism and eager to make an impact in a fast-growing destination. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in supporting Discover Surrey’s marketing initiatives, social media presence, and collaborative advertising efforts. The ideal candidate is a team player with a creative mindset, a proactive attitude, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Support Marketing Campaigns: Assist the Marketing Director with the planning, execution, and tracking of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social platforms.

– Social Media: Support Discover Surrey’s social media channels, creating and scheduling engaging content that highlights Surrey’s attractions, events, and community stories.

– Marketing Co-ops & Partnerships: Coordinate marketing co-op programs and partnerships with local businesses and tourism operators, helping to develop promotional content and ensuring campaign alignment.

– Ad Creation & Content Development: Work closely with the marketing team to create ads, graphics, and other promotional content that captures Surrey’s unique appeal and supports brand consistency across channels.

– Event Support: Provide on-the-ground support at events as needed, helping with setup, promotional activities, and content capture for social media. This may include the need to travel outside of the province and country.

– Analytics & Reporting: Monitor and report on campaign performance and social media analytics, offering insights and recommendations to optimize future initiatives.

– Administrative Support: Assist with general marketing administrative tasks, including scheduling, file management, and organizing creative assets.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
– A degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
– 2-3 years of experience in a marketing role, ideally with experience in social media and content creation.
– Familiarity with social media platforms, management tools, and content scheduling.
– Strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.
– Basic graphic design skills (experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software is an asset).
– Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
– A proactive, collaborative attitude with a strong interest in tourism and destination marketing.
– Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends for event support.
– Holds a Class 5 driver’s license and a valid passport.
– Experience in a tourism-related field is an asset.

Location: In-person to start with the possibility for more flexibility post-probationary period
Occasional travel, weekend or evening shifts required and based on business needs.

Salary/Wage

50,000
