Job Overview
A family-owned recreational property on the Sunshine Coast BC, located close to the entrance of Desolation Sound, is seeking a year round, dedicated person to live on-site (Private Studio Cabin) and work as a Caretaker. This unique opportunity offers a fulfilling lifestyle in a spectacular location. This is a salaried position for an experienced on-site caretaker seeking long-term employment to start in May 2025.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Physically able to work outdoors and climb ladders.

Handyman/carpentry knowledge and abilities.

Ability to safely operate mowers and other equipment including chainsaws, power and hand tools.

Assist Sawmill Operator with jobs when needed

Tractor operation (training can be provided)

General housekeeping experience. Capable of cleaning Guest Cottages, including Kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and porches. Laundry and change beds.

General gardening knowledge with experience mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, removing fallen limbs, tree pruning, weeding, flower/vegetable planting, and organic garden maintenance.

Requirements

● Applicant should have experience in caretaking and general grounds keeping

● Must be legally able to work in Canada.

● Must have the ability to work independently, identify problems, and find solutions.

● Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to provide a criminal background check including the vulnerable sector

● Must be physically fit

● Pets may be considered if well trained. (to be discussed)

● Personal and Employment References are required.

Additional: to stay in Owners house when owner is away to care for Dogs and Cats.
