Join our culinary team! We are a busy, family owned and operated, casual fine dining restaurant entering our 22nd year of successful business on beautiful Salt Spring Island. We’re looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to help us deliver a quality and consistent dining experience to our loyal customers and many international visitors. As a Sous Chef at Auntie Pesto’s, you’ll work closely with the Chef/Owner to manage kitchen operations, uphold culinary excellence, and lead a motivated team.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do:
• Assist Chef with daily kitchen operations.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness.
• Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, helping with training and development.
• Manage ordering and inventory.
• Contribute to menu planning and innovation.
• Step up to lead the kitchen in the absence of Chef.

What We’re Looking For:
• 3+ years experience in a fine dining kitchen.
• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
• A solid understanding of culinary trends and techniques.
• Red Seal or Journeyman certification.
• FoodSafe certified.

Salary/Wage

64,000.00/yr
