Job Description
The Village of Nakusp is a vibrant, safe, and friendly lakeshore community nestled on the shores of upper Arrow Lake in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia. We are a 4-season playground with a stunning waterfront location, a great lifestyle (the mountain biking and hiking are amazing!) competitive wages, and shared, on-site staff accommodations if required. Successful candidates will report to the Arena / Parks Foreman, and the Nakusp Hot Springs Supervisor, depending on the assignment. We are looking to create a team of 4 people to keep our campgrounds looking amazing and our guests happy. Our two seasonal campgrounds are very popular, and we need great summer staff who enjoy interacting with guests, and are enthusiastic about the tourism and hospitality industries.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Duties include campground maintenance, including emptying public garbage’s, cleaning washrooms, and maintaining grass with string trimmers and push mowers in parks and other public spaces. Tasks will include firewood cutting, general maintenance and janitorial duties. Familiarity with the required tools and machines is desirable. Successful applicants must be responsible, hardworking, able to work independently, and have an aptitude for hospitality services.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Valid Class 7/5 Driver’s License
• Ability to follow instructions, observe safety, and follow policy regulations
• A genuine desire to work hard in the outdoors, while meeting and interacting with visitors from around the world

20/hr
Other Perks/Benefits
Shared on-site staff accommodations at the Hot Springs is available, if required, and all Village Staff enjoy complimentary access to the Hot Springs. The pay rate will be $20.00/hr including accommodations, and successful applicants will be required to maintain membership in CUPE Local 2450.
