Job Description
Step into the role of Tent Refurbishment Assistant! From unpacking to cleaning and organizing, you’ll ensure our tents are ready for the upcoming festival season. This is your chance to make a tangible impact behind the scenes!
• This full-time, temporary position will work Tues-Sat, primarily from our dedicated space at Billy’s Auto Service in Salmo, BC.
• Start Date: Tues. Jan. 14, 2025
• End Date: The position runs until completion of the project (approx. 3-4 months).
• Shift Time: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
This role requires individuals with both physical and administrative skills. Candidates must have the strength and endurance to repeatedly pack/unpack, lift, carry, and clean heavy tents, as well as handle other physically demanding tasks. Equally important, this role involves tracking data using spreadsheets, requiring strong attention to detail, administrative abilities, and proficiency with spreadsheet software. A strong work ethic is essential.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Systematically opens and examines all tents for damage/mould/missing parts.
• Follows established cleaning techniques, and makes suggestions based on outcome and productivity.
• Ensure that all safety procedures and policies are followed and proper PPE is worn when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of all inventory, as well as missing parts/damaged components.
• Tracks completion rate and productivity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Must have reliable transportation to work location in Salmo, BC.
• Must be physically able to repeatedly pack/unpack, lift, carry, and clean heavy tents, as well as handle other physically demanding tasks.
• Proficiency with administrative tasks and spreadsheet software is required.
• Eye for detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated and able to modify processes for efficiency.
• Familiarity with productivity software such as Excel or Sheets.
• Proven self-management skills.
• Flexible and able to respond to changes in working conditions.
• Accuracy of reporting.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse work space without personal judgments or bias.
