A Biosphere certified destination, Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism is committed to ensuring the pillars of sustainability are adopted across the organization’s programs and projects. This summer student position will have the opportunity to broadly learn and support the regional tourism office. This team supports the tourism industry, improves local businesses’ ability to be profitable, and support sustainable development within the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Data entry as required
• Accompany staff when meeting with operators (learning opportunities)
• Research activities and experiences in the region and possible shoulder season extension ideas
• Have the opportunity to learn about the CCC region
• Assist with preparation of Community Events and Meetings – could include set up displays, moving travel guides and map pads, banners.
• Email tourism operators regarding CCC programs to enable businesses, partners, and local/regional governments to improve visitor experience
• Collect data to understand visitor profiles for local communities
• Assist with filling out stakeholder assessments and determining operator’s business/market/export readiness
• Assist with industry website development and updates
• Support office administration tasks such as reporting, filing, collateral inventory management
