Job Summary
Saliance is seeking an accomplished executive business leader to join our fast-growing and dynamic company. Saliance Global Holdings grows its business rapidly in sectors as diverse as Hotel and Resort Management, Energy and Manufacture industries. Currently in a significant growth phase, particularly in its Canada and Australia operations, the company requires an Executive professional with a management designation, at least ten years of experience with business management background and processes, and strong analytical abilities. The ideal candidate has proven experience in hotel management, upstream energy sector as well as business mindset.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The CEO/ President is an experienced business leader who will provide management expertise in all matters relating to operational excellence, leadership, business development, finance and administration, human resources, risk management, and the achievement of key performance indicators. Located in our downtown office in Greater Vancouver Area BC, responsibilities will include:
Operations:
Strategic Planning:
• Operationalize and lead the implementation of current strategic priorities while identifying and planning short and long-term goals and initiatives.
• Work with the Owner/President to monitor and evaluate the relevance of the Saliance strategic priorities.
• Develop and lead additional income-generating activities.
• Develop and implement systems, policies, and strategies to monitor progress toward achievement of the organization goals and objectives.
• Analyze situations and make decisions that will directly impact Saliance while managing differences between Hotel & Resort and Energy sector.
• Leadership of the day-to-day operation of the business and collaboration with the senior leadership team on the long-term business growth strategies. Responsibilities include sales and marketing, business development, finance and administration, human resources, IT, logistics and business planning.
• Identify business development opportunities and manage successful acquisition integration.
• Lead and develop working relationships with Hotel and Resort management, Energy, and logistics providers to optimize processes and streamline operations.
• Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus and service to its customers.
• Assess and manage the principal risks to the Group business and activities to ensure achievement of corporate objectives.
Finance:
• Plan, assess and manage the financial activities of the organization.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reports are presented to the Audit Committee and the President.
• Assist in preparing annual operating and capital budgets to meet the President objectives and/or directives; monitor the financial performance of the Saliance Global Holdings and compliance with the budgeted expectations.
• Work with the General Manager and the President to ensure support of short and long-term financial goals.
• Work within the capital budgets to direct and market the competitive advantages of the Group to its partners.
People Leadership:
• Provide dynamic and constructive leadership ensuring a healthy, positive culture to purposefully engage all internal staff, committees, and volunteers through effective and consistent communication and messaging.
• Manage and develop staff through training and succession planning for future growth to ensure our people have the skills necessary to grow the business.
Community Engagement and Relations:
• Develop and maintain ongoing positive working relationships and open multi-directional communications with Presidents to serve Saliance Global Holdings interests.
• Ensure the SGH is well represented at community activities and events and serves as the face of the organization.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the General Manager at Resort and Energy
• Oversee development and delivery of presentations and other communications to media, funders, and community organizations.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
• A university degree, professional designation, or recognized equivalent in a related field.
• 10+ years in a senior leadership role preferable with hospitality experience.
• Demonstrated experience and success with fund development.
• An understanding of and commitment to the goals of conservation, development, and education.
• Proven change management experience.
• Ability to create and manage a balanced budget and understand financial statements.
• Firm understanding of government relations including the ability to demonstrate political impartiality.
• Accountability for leading a team of staff, with performance management experience in a unionized environment.
