Job Description
POSITION: WALL SECURITY OFFICER
REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Security

Our Wall Security Officers play an elite role in keeping our hotel safe for our guests and associates and protect our Wall Centre property. This people facing role continues to build and maintain relationships in unique circumstances. You will use your excellent decision-making skills to provide solutions in unpredictable situations. Your investigative skills could get a good workout, as well.
What your day will look like:
• Patrol assigned property to ensure the safety of clients and employees and to protect all property assets.
• Answer house calls, radios, assist clients and staff members with respect to safety, security and business operation.
• Initiate and follow-up all investigations of crimes committed against property and persons.
• Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, monitor investigations to their timely conclusion and ensure appropriate follow up with clients, visitors and staff members, documenting all contacts.
• Approach Persons of Interest, politely determine their business on property and evict them should they not have a legitimate reason to be there.
• Maintain accurate records while performing basic office duties including, but not limited to, camera monitoring and shift activity log.
• Performing basic routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot various equipment on site.
• Attend to medical needs of hotel employees, guests, or patrons as an OFA attendant.
• Understand and enforce all hotel safety and security policies.
• Provide access to authorized contractors and document their attendance.
• Must maintain a clean and professional personal appearance.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Security

Responsibilities & Qualifications
• Must have BST (Basic Security Training)
• Applicants must hold a valid Security Worker License requirement under the Security Services Act SBC 2007.c30 (Gov.bc.ca.)
• MUST HAVE Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
• Previous experience in a related field is an asset.
• The ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in the English language; a second language is an asset.
• Strong computer skills and organizational skills.
• Experience in CCTV monitoring software is an asset.
• Experience in access control software is an asset.
• Must possess outstanding, pro-active guest service skills, a professional presentation and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be flexible to work varying schedules, including graveyards, late nights and early morning shifts.
• Work well under pressure and as part of a professional team.
• Previous security experience in a high-volume establishment.
• Day shifts. May be required to work Graveyard shifts.
• A good physical condition, as this position requires constant walking, standing, and bending.
Salary/Wage
$27.00-$30.05 per hour
