Orca Spirit Adventures is seeking a Part time Sales and Reservations agent for our busy whale watching weekends in Victoria, BC. The ideal candidate must be well organized and have the strong ability to multi-task in a high paced tourism environment. Office administration experience and previous work in the tourism and cruise industries is considered a valuable asset. Candidate should have a strong focus on customer service and be passionate about the marine environment. This position is a sales position as well as a guest service agent and must ensure all guests feel welcomed and important

Responsibilities & Qualifications

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sales Agent’s primary responsibility is to promote and sell whale watching and marine wildlife tours.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Check in and departure of tours
• Promotion and sales of tours and packages (must be knowledgeable about tour departure times, vessel types, and pricing)
• Accurately and efficiently manage cash and credit card transactions

SHIFTS:

* Must be available to work Saturday and Sundays
* Must be able to work mornings, afternoons or evenings.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• Proven ability to excel in a sales environment
• Ability to engage and persuade people in a positive, non-demanding style
• Passion to exceed service expectations
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Previous Tourism experience preferred
• Professional demeanour
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills

• Ability to handle difficult guest service issues in a calm and professional manner
