Foundations of Workplace Safety Course
This is an interactive online course designed specifically for young and new workers. It provides a friendly, straightforward introduction to occupational health and safety for anyone working in the tourism and hospitality industry. The course includes a WHMIS component. Students receive a certificate once they have successfully completed the course, final exam and course evaluation.
Occupational Health and Safety Program Fundamentals Course
Designed by go2HR®, this online course is geared towards employers, managers and supervisors working in British Columbia’s tourism and hospitality industry. This interactive, nine-module course covers the fundamental principles of OHS programs in BC. Students gain an understanding of the key elements of a safety management system through a series of interactive exercises and quizzes. Upon successful completion, students will earn a certificate of completion.
You’ll find a variety of free, sector-specific and customizable resources that will assist you in making your workplace healthier and safer. These resources range from OHS program templates, toolkits, forms and checklists to videos, posters, articles and booklets.
We offer regular webinars on a range of current OHS topics as part of our educational program. Webinars are a great way to work towards completing your professional development requirements as a health and safety professional or COR internal auditor. Join a go2HR webinar with your joint health and safety committee (JHSC) members to learn something new that you can take back to your business. Attendance at our webinars also counts towards your JHSC annual training entitlement.
We host OHS roundtables for employers in communities across BC. These sessions are flexible, so we can tailor the content according to your health and safety challenges and what you would like to learn about or discuss. Our roundtables provide you with an opportunity to:
- Discuss hot OHS topics relevant to your industry, sector or region.
- Receive updates on go2HR’s Industry Health & Safety program, including new resources, the COR program, training options and other initiatives.
- Meet and network with your peers from the BC tourism and hospitality industry.
- Invite your contacts to join the session and share ideas and insights as a community.
- Ask questions and get to know your Industry Health and Safety Specialist.
